Here at the office we have been discussing what some of our favourite destinations for a wedding would be as Amy is beginning to plan her own wedding. Whether you picture having the quintessential wedding at home or you want to whisk all of your friends and family somewhere abroad, here is the list of our top five destinations that could give you ideas for your perfect wedding this year.
Honolulu, Hawaii:
If you’re looking for a setting for your dreamy beach wedding, Hawaii is the perfect destination for you. Made up of 6 main islands, Waikiki Beach (which at this point, is almost completely man-made) is one of the most well-known places that can be found in Honolulu on Oahu Island. When I was able to make a trip to the island a few years ago, it was completely magical and unlike anything I’d ever seen before.
Photographs of the beaches and the surrounding nature don’t do it justice as it is extremely beautiful, from the white sand and crystal clear water to the colourful sunsets that take over the sky in the afternoons. The beaches on Oahu Island would be ideal backdrops for official wedding photographs to serve as a reminder of the best day of your life.
I’d almost felt like the holiday had been something I’d made up in my dreams because it doesn’t seem real that somewhere as incredible as the islands would exist.
Chiostro di San Francesco, Sorrento:
Known to some as the land of love, consider looking at having a wedding in Italy during the spring or summer in order to bask in the warm and sunny weather that the country has to offer. In the southwestern part of Italy, you will find the Chiostro di San Francesco tucked away in Sorrento. This well-known destination is the perfect place to have a smaller and more intimate wedding with only the closest of your family and friends.
Something that we found really interesting about this particular venue is whilst photos are being taken, you and your guests are able to have a taste of the locally made limoncello and lemon sorbet and then take a walk through the lively market which is close by.

Sorrisniva, Norway:
If you want to go somewhere completely different for your wedding destination, for a once in the lifetime opportunity, look no further than the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel in Norway. This venue even has its own snow and ice chapel. Each year it is constructed differently, with a new theme each time as well as new sculptures which would only add to your individual experience.
I think this would be a really cool place to have a wedding ceremony because of how unusual it is and you would be able to think about doing activities such as reindeer sleighing, dog sledding or you could even arrive to the chapel on a snowmobile!

Safari Wedding, South Africa:
On the complete opposite end of the scale, take you and your wedding party to South Africa for an incredible wedding ceremony and party unlike any other. The vast and never ending landscapes that surround you will leave you feeling in awe. If you choose to have a Safari wedding will allow you to be introduced to new cultures and exciting scenery that you previously only would’ve seen in photographs or movies.
We especially loved the idea of a safari wedding because of how fun it could be to be able to see so many exotic animals in their natural habitats and fully immersing yourself in the nature by sleeping outside during your stay. I also liked the possibility of having the actual wedding ceremony within the African bush itself.
