At the office, we really enjoy visiting fashion exhibitions as it allows us to keep up to date with the creative world and learn more about some of the most famous and influential designers. It allows us to understand their impacts on how fashion has been shaped to what it is today. We are able to see garments up close to understand how they have been made. As well as going to see exhibitions of other designers who we love or are inspired by, we also visit exhibitions about other artists too who express themselves with different media.

We’re back again to wrap up our favourite Fashion Month moments, including the ones that are still on everyone's lips. Without further ado let’s dive straight into it, shall we? This year's fashion month saw a bigger push on diversity and inclusivity as the industry continues to strive to break...

Fashion month once again came and gone in a flash. Leaving our heads spinning from sequins, celebrities and show-stopping spectacles. Whilst the world is still in pandemic mode, it didn’t stop many brands from making headlines, filling their front rows and being all round over the top in every sense of the word. Some could say making up for lost time.

Over the years catwalks have transitioned from exclusive private viewings, only accessed by the fashion leaders of its time, to being available at the click of a button for thousands of online streamers to see. With audiences increasingly growing by the decade, it appears that fashion houses are more than ever competing to deliver that ‘wow’ factor moment during Fashion Month.

When you think of women’s workwear, it’s obvious to immediately think of classic pieces such as a suit or a dress. However, that has not always been the case! We have come very far in terms of what women are able to wear during work and daily life, to the point where we can have such a diverse wardrobe of garments right at their finger tips! In the Mellaris office we have been talking about the history of women’s workwear as well as how the trouser, which was once seen as something that only men could wear, has become a staple in everyone’s wardrobe.

 A significant shift in the air tells us that the big, bold and the beautiful has arrived at our doorstep once again. As we prepare to welcome majestic covers and fresh beginnings, come the new season, excitement is an understatement for the fashion community when it comes to describing the annual presence of September. The anticipation of the coming season has inspired us to reflect upon an array of iconic September issues, both old and new, retelling and reflecting on their own individual, remarkable stories.

Tulle and feathers and pastels- Oh my! Once again Couture Week leaves us dazzled by craftsmanship and elegance, yet it was the refreshing colour palettes that steer way from traditional autumnal tones that inspired us most this season. The term ‘Couture’ itself breathes an exotic air that knowingly transports us to a realm of fantasy, however what exactly does it mean to establish a Couture collection?

In preparation for our SS20 photoshoot, we're looking back to our last social media photoshoot we had and how much fun we had! For our SS19 photoshoot we decided to feature some of the dogs that belonged to some of the models to create some sweet photos.

Through researching, I found out about a photoshoot that the brand Coach did a photoshoot in 2015 which was a campaign that “celebrates the dogs in our lives and captures the pups’ unique personalities as they “model” Coach’s Fall 2015 star bags.”

We also enjoy recommending each other different things to start watching or reading. From all the conversations that we’ve had about these topics, we’ve found out that we’ve watched a lot of the same things and enjoy the same kinds of genres. The topic of this week’s discussion is fashion in TV and film.

Today’s topic in the office?  Cool and interesting bars in London that are on our list for either a spontaneous night out with the girls or planning your hen do.
